Oscars 2023: Best Red-Carpet Looks And How You Can Emulate Them
This past Monday, the biggest stars across the world gathered at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles for Hollywood’s biggest night — the Oscars. Although we’ve seen a fair share of show-stopping fashion moments this award season, the ladies still pulled all the stops when it comes to their red-carpet ensembles, and they did not disappoint. Here are some of the best looks of the night — and how you can replicate them to be the best dressed at your next formal event.
Cara Delevingne may only be one of the presenters for the night, but she still came out in full force when it comes to making a fashion statement. The model and actress showed up in a red-hot Elie Saab Couture gown with a thigh-high split and accessorised with Bvlgari jewellery for that high-octane glamour. Emulate her outfit in the Alba draped satin-twill gown from Solace London — found on our Jellibeans site. From the voluminous silhouette to the one-shoulder neckline, the maxi number has got it down pat. Don’t have the size you’re looking for? Alternative brands including Jovani, Alex&Eve, Lace The Label and Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon are some of the labels you can turn to. The latter’s off-shoulder bow-back taffeta gown, in particular, is an equally alluring take.
The next leading lady on our list goes to the one and only Michelle Yeoh who won the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once’. The Malaysian-born actress walked the champagne carpet in a white Dior Haute Couture gown that features a mesh upper and is embroidered with ostrich feathers. A quick search on our Jellibeans site will lead you to the Grace feather-trim gown by Rebecca Vallance that radiates similar chic flair, albeit in a slightly different rendition.
Fellow Best Actress nominee Kerry Condon is also undoubtedly one of the best dressed of the night, as her strapless bustier gown is all about quiet sophistication. Replicate her Versace look in the strapless gown by Marchesa. Featuring the same sweetheart neckline, the fit-and-flare number is adorned with 3D appliqué detail that takes it to the next level.
As one of the most popular Bollywood actresses (on top of being a fashion darling), Deepika Padukone needs no introduction. The star made an appearance in a black Louis Vuitton gown that’s anything but boring, thanks to the eye-catching mermaid silhouette as well as the exaggerated off-shoulder long sleeves. Replicate her get-up in the draped off-shoulder gown by L’Agence that exudes the same understated chicness.
Last but not least, Emily Blunt proved that sometimes, the simplest look makes the loudest statement. She walked the carpet in a white off-shoulder gown by Valentino, letting the off-shoulder details and silhouette do the talking. On our Jellibeans’ site, we found an almost identical ensemble by Aaizel, albeit in a two-tone rendition that ends at the ankle. It’s the perfect look for monochrome lovers.
